so dad - he was retired, n he's living all alone
you thought the time was right to get a dog now of his own
dad didn't think he wanted one - he never had before
but now that we're together here, he couldn't love me more
so there i was, a shelter dog, so sad a puppy, me
i didn't think i'd Ever have a loving family...
but happily my story here - it has a happy end
cuz I got my forever home
n Daddy got
a friend!

If I recall correctly, Riot is a rescue from a fur farm and cannot be released into the wild. More recently, the fur family has been growing with a few more rescued foxes. as i'm getting older, it is hard to climb the stairs
it's nice to know how very much my human really cares
she brought the mattress down for me, n laid it on the floor

’My face is an absolute mess...I did this for my husky for several weeks after he was diagnosed with lymphoma a few months back- he had insomnia probably due to the medication he was prescribed. He unfortunately relapsed and I had to put him down this past October. I'd like to think this is what went through his mind every night I slept next to him. There's not a day that goes by without me missing him dearly ;-; I hope OP will share many more wonderful years and sleepy nights with Cato ❤’

’I want a dog so badly. I moved out of my parents house about 13 years ago and I’ve desperately wanted a dog but waited and waited until I was in a good situation to give a dog the best life I could. Waited til I had a good paying job and plenty of money in savings, then moved into a place with a big yard and worked things out with my employer so the two days per week that I had to go into the office, I could bring the dog with me so it would never be alone all day. Everything was finally perfectly lined up so I started looking for a dog and ended up falling in love with this sweet pupper that was rescued minutes before it was to be slaughtered at a Korean dog farm. Bought everything I needed and woke up the morning I was set to bring him home like a kid on Christmas. As I was getting ready to leave I got a call from my employer asking me to come in ASAP. They told me my company was shutting down and they were laying everyone off effective immediately. I had no choice but to back out of the adoption (which was over $1K) and it was absolutely heartbreaking. I don’t know why I’m sharing this but now every time I see a cute pup like this I get really bummed out.’

i think i saw him peeking, checking in my crate at night

i got a little bigger n i learned a game called 'ball'
(i loved it when the daddy played - he threw it best of all!)
the kids - they got so busy, always on the phone they'd talk
but dad - he always found the time to take me for a walk
now every night, i watch for him to come back home, n then
my day's complete, n all is good -
my Dad is home again!

as momma looks on n approves of this friend
his happiness shows in his smile, end to end :)

i can't believe what's happening - my life has turned around
was just a few short weeks ago, was lost but now i'm found!
i don't remember how i ended up out in the cold,
but surely it was meant to be - a story to be told!
cuz if i hadn't been there, then those kittens would have died
(i don't know how i did it, but i did my best - i tried!)
so cold n hungry all of us, but rescued by a friend
n now, i have a Family -
a happy ever end!
